SQAS (Safety & Quality Assessment System) is a system to evaluate the quality, safety, security and environmental performance of Logistics Service Providers and Chemical Distributors in a uniform manner by single standardised assessments carried out by independent assessors using a standard questionnaire.
An SQAS assessment does not lead to a certificate but offers a detailed factual report which each chemical company needs to evaluate according to its own requirements.
GDP Good Distribution Practices
Download certificate - Balerna
GDPs define basic requirements to ensure that the storage, transport and distribution of medicines and active substances take place under controlled, traceable and documented conditions. The Guidelines on Good Distribution Practices (GDP) for medicinal products for human use, published by the European Commission initially in 1994 and significantly updated in 2013, provide an operational framework to support wholesale distributors in the compliant and responsible operation of their activities. Distribution is increasingly a complex activity, involving numerous actors along the supply chain and requiring high standards of quality, safety and traceability. In Switzerland, GDP compliance is regulated by Swissmedic through national guidelines and regulations equivalent to those in Europe, the application of which is mandatory for all operators authorised to distribute medicines and active ingredients on Swiss territory. ECSA is authorised to distribute active substances through its offices in Balerna and Flawil.

Competence - for trust in therapeutic products
Swissmedic is the Swiss agency for the authorisation and supervision of therapeutic products. Swissmedic fulfils the legal mandate and works with partner authorities on a national and international basis.
Swissmedic endeavours to ensure that authorised therapeutic products are of high quality, effective and safe. By doing so, Swissmedic makes a considerable contribution towards protecting the health of humans and animals, and also participates in safeguarding Switzerland as a location for industry and research.
For more than four years, ECSA Chemicals AG has been authorised by Swissmedic for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for dilution operations of a pharmaceutical active substance. GMP guarantees that each activity is carried out in a controlled environment, with validated procedures and risk management in addition to finished product controls. This authorisation certifies the compliance of our processes with the highest quality and safety requirements of pharmaceutical legislation and represents confirmation of a reliable service, built on a focus on quality and compliance that has always been a hallmark of ECSA Chemicals AG, renewing our commitment to offer our partners solutions that are increasingly advanced and aligned with international standards.
Responsible Care is a global, voluntary initiative developed autonomously by the chemical industry for the chemical industry - it is run in 52 countries whose combined chemical industries account for nearly 90% of global chemicals production. It stands for the chemical industry's desire to improve health, safety, and environmental performance.
The signatory chemical companies agree to commit themselves to improve their performances in the fields of environmental protection, occupational safety and health protection, plant safety, product stewardship and logistics, as well as to continuously improve the dialog with their neighbors and the public, independent from legal requirements.

Feed safety is a prerequisite for food safety. The FAMI-QS European Code of Good Practice for Feed Additives and Premixtures Operators defines the requirements for producers of feed additives and feed premixes.
The fact that the FAMI-QS Code of Good Practice is an industry standard that was created by renowned representatives of the industry makes it practical and credible. The code was approved in 2007 by the EC «Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health» as being a suitable system for implementing the requirements of European Feed Hygiene Regulation 183/2005.
